If you travel by train, you will think at the time to book tickets. After all, one should book tickets online or book from the counter. By the way, by doing these two ways, the ticket price is affected. Online train ticket counters are more expensive than tickets purchased offline. Why are two different prices paid for the same train ticket? Are there any special facility to passengers booking online? You can read the answers to many such questions below.

Why is online tickets expensive?

The government has answered this question in Rajya Sabha. He informed that convenience fees and transactions are charged from passengers who book online tickets through the website of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). For this reason, online ticket prices are slightly expensive than tickets purchased directly from railway counter.

According to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, IRCTC spends a lot to provide online ticketing facility. To reduce the cost of maintaining and upgrading the ticketing infrastructure, IRCTC Convenience fees are fees. Ashwini Vaishnav said that it also has a bank transaction charge.

Travel time and transportation cost savings

The online ticket booking facility of IRCTC is one of the most passenger friendly initiatives of Indian Railways. At present, more than 80 percent reservation tickets are booked online. This has brought relief from the problem of passengers going to the reservation counter. This saves their travel time and transportation cost.

You can do online tick books long back. You can select the seat of your choice. Food service is already able to add. For offline ticket booking, you have to stand in a long line at the counter. There is difficulty in selecting the seat. Even food is not able to pre -book.
