February 18, Chennai On Tuesday, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal revealed Murukan, who is portrayed by actor Baiju Santhosh in the highly anticipated political action drama L2: Empuraan (L2E), directed by Prithviraj.

Mohanlal posted, “Character No. 18 Baiju Santhosh as Murukan in #L2E #EMPURAAN,” on his X timeline. Additionally, he sent a link to a YouTube video where Baiju Santhosh discussed his role in the movie.

“I don’t believe anybody has forgotten the characters in the movie Lucifer, particularly Stephachayan and Murukan. I had a great time playing the role of Murukan. And via Empuraan, we are getting back together after a five-year separation. I would now like to express my gratitude to associate director Vava, Mohanlal, Sujith Vassudev, Prithiviraj, Antony Perumbavoor, and Murali Gopi. Murukan is returning as Empuraan becomes the biggest movie in Malayalam cinema. Naturally, with a dash of “decency,” he added.

The Mohanlal-starring Actor Prithviraj is the director of L2: Empuraan (L2E), which Antony Perumbavoor and Subaskaran co-produce. Deepak Dev composed the soundtrack for the movie, while Murali Gopy wrote the script. Sujith Vaassudev did the film’s cinematography, while Akhilesh Mohan did the editing.

As you may remember, actor Prithviraj said early on in the movie that Mohanlal would be the hero of a commercial blockbuster. For his part, Murali Gopy has said that this will be the second installment in a trilogy of films.

In only eight days, “Lucifer,” the first installment of the series that debuted in 2019 and included actor Prithviraj Sukumaran as director, became a box office success. It became the highest-grossing Malayalam movie ever, earning nearly Rs 200 crore.

It goes without saying that anticipation for the follow-up, which is set to premiere on March 27 of this year, has skyrocketed.
