Jimit Trivedi , who recently visited the Maha Kumbh Mela with his mom, Mala, says “it was an unforgettable experience.” The Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo
and Gujjubhai The Great
actor tells us, “I planned this as a surprise trip for my mom. I asked her to pack her bag and didn’t tell her where we were going. She has been thanking me ever since we have come back.”
Jimit adds, “In January, I decided that I must take mom to the Maha Kumbh Mela because it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. However, as no flight or train tickets were available, I decided to drive down to Prayagraj from Mumbai. It usually takes 22 hours and I drove overnight to reach the Madhya Pradesh border around 7am the next morning. After that, there was a massive traffic jam for 300 kilometres. I have never seen traffic like this in my life (laughs)! We reached Prayagraj around 10.30pm. It was a never-ending journey.”
‘Everything was really smooth at Maha Kumbh’
Once they reached, “things were very smooth”, says the actor. He adds, “We took an e-rickshaw from the hotel and after that, a local resident was kind enough to take us to the mela on his bike. Even while returning, someone dropped us to our hotel and didn’t charge us anything. Locals in Prayagraj were really helpful and nobody was cheating the devotees. I will be forever grateful to them for the entire experience.”
He adds, “What you feel after taking a holy dip there can’t be described in words. You can feel positive vibrations and gain so much knowledge, apart from learning so much about our rich culture. I also saw a lot of foreigners. Iss experience se

badhta hai. I am lucky to have witnessed this. After attending the mela, I felt I had achieved something special. While taking a holy dip, you can only see heads all around. Considering crores of devotees have attended the Maha Kumbh Mela in the last few days, the administration has done a remarkable job. Despite the huge crowds, everyone was disciplined, and cleanliness was taken care of. You can feel positive vibrations and gain so much knowledge after attending Maha Kumbh Mela, apart from learning so much about our rich culture. I also saw a lot of foreigners there.”
