UPSC CSE 2025: The Madhya Pradesh High Court has given a big decision for the candidates of the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 and Madhya Pradesh Teacher Selection Examination 2025. Giving the final relief, it has been decided to give 5 years relaxation in the maximum age limit to the candidates of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in both these recruitments like other reserved categories. Also, EWS will get nine attempts in UPSC.

Senior Supreme Court lawyer Kapil Sibal was pleading in this case. He presented his side in the High Court through video conferencing. During this, he cited the order of 10 February 2025, which mentioned the effective advocacy done by advocate Dheeraj Tiwari.

Appointment will not be done without the permission of the court.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has directed the UPSC to accept the applications of all the candidates in similar situations including the petitioner. Even if they do not fulfill the existing qualifications or age conditions. Especially the candidates of economically weaker section will get the same age benefit as the candidates of other reserved categories. Apart from this, now EWS candidates will be able to appear in the UPSC Civil Services Examination nine times. However, the court has said that the final appointment orders will not be issued without its permission.

Relief was also given in the MP Teacher Selection Exam 2024

The division bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court had earlier given a decision to give a year's relaxation in the age limit to the candidates of the EWS category in MP Teacher Selection Exam 2024. After which candidates up to 45 years of age can appear in this exam. The court has given this decision based on Article 14 (Right to Equality) and Article 16 (Equal Opportunity in Public Employment) of the Constitution.
