With the financial year coming to a close soon, individuals are busy in planning their bank appointments and errands. However, to ensure that customers don’t face any difficulties or inconvenience in scheduling their financial tasks, they should keep a tab of the bank holidays lined up in the month.
This holiday list is published by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) every year. This list compiles national holidays, state-based festivals, weekend leaves, and special occasions. Typically, banks remain closed for the public on second, and fourth Saturdays, and all Sundays across the country.
Often, the bank holidays differ for regions based on their festivals. This is why bank customers should prepare for a bank holiday on February 19 in Maharashtra only.
The RBI’s list shows that banks will remain closed in Maharashtra tomorrow to mark the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. However, it will be business as usual in other states and customers will be able to go about their daily business without any interruption.
Additionally, banks will also be closed on February 20, but only in Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh as both states celebrate the occasion of Statehood Day/State Day.
The festival of Mahashivratri falls on February 26 and multiple states will remain closed in celebration of the festival.
