If you work remotely and fancy a cheap way to boost your home set-up it might be worth a quick trip to this weekend. The popular supermarket chain has announced the launch of some new 'game-changing' smart desk technology aimed at making you a little more productive. There are a few gadgets to choose from but one that stands out is a Portable Monitor.

This mobile accessory features a pixel-packed 15.6-inch screen which plugs directly into your laptop, tablet or smartphone (via USB-C) and acts as a second display.

Aldi says its mini monitor features a 1920 x 1080 resolution (also known as 1080p or Full HD) and is slim and light enough to pop in your bag.

It's on sale now for £79.99 but Aldi is warning that this is one of its Specialbuys, so once it's gone, it's gone.

Express.co.uk has not seen or tested this display so we can't confirm the quality or how good the visuals are but it might be fine if you simply want some extra screen space on your desk.

"The ideal solution for hybrid workers and frequent travellers, the game-changing Portable Monitor (£79.99) features a 1920 x 1080 resolution 15.6 inch screen, and connects easily to laptops, tablets, or even smartphones via mini-HDMI and USB Type-C ports," Aldi explained.

"The slim, lightweight design makes it incredibly easy to transport, perfect for slipping into laptop bags or carry cases."

Along with that portable panel, Aldi is also launching some other accessories today including a Laptop Stand and Phone Holder which both cost just £5.99. These will sit in your office and offer an easy way to store an use those gadgets.

There are also some wireless headphones in store from today and even a 3-in-1 charger which can refill phones, watches and earbuds at the same time. That should cut down on the usual mess of cables. Both of these gadgets cost £12.99.

"With hybrid working continuing to be the norm for many, Aldi is boosting productivity," the supermarket said.

"Workaholics had better be quick, as with all Specialbuys, once they're gone, they're gone!"
