has found himself embroiled in fresh controversy since he returned to X - formerly known as Twitter - on Monday (February 17) after his antisemitic rant earlier this month.
The Jesus Walks rapper left fans scratching their heads after he shared a string of cryptic posts online, with one in particular raising alarm bells for fans.
On the platform, Kanye asserted: "REAL FRIENDS LET FRIENDS DRIVE DRUNK," sparking backlash from users due to the inherent danger, given how driving under the influence can have dire consequences, such as fatal car accidents.
The dad-of-four found himself in a near-fatal car crash back in 2002. According to Rolling Stone, he collided with another vehicle at 3am after dozing off at the wheel of his rental Lexus.
Kanye crashed into an oncoming car, leaving his jaw shattered in three places and the other driver sustaining broken legs. The Grammy-winning artist's post wasn't the first time he's spoken out about driving under the influence.
In his 2010 record Power, he sang: "I was drinking earlier / now I'm driving." It's fair to say his latest message on X did not sit well with followers, who swiftly denounced the rhetoric on the social media site, reports .
One user insisted: "No. Drunk driving involves innocent victims in other cars. Not okay," while another fumed: "No they don't I got a DUI and my life is ruined" as a third echoed: "Nah, real fiends take the keys and make sure everyone gets home safe".
Hours later on Monday night, Ye reported a tweet from an account that says they are "not carti", but appear to often tease the rapper's projects.
Only shared in the post were the side-eye emojis. However, around the time of Kanye's report, the account had shared an image on X that had "music is coming" written acorss it, also teasing "IS IT?" in the post.
Fans pondered if the Flashing Lights rapper reshariing Playboi's eye emoji post could serve as confirmation that they have new music on the way. Replying to someone asking: "Why is Ye retweeting" his post, the account replied: "Maybe it's a hint".
It comes after he claimed that he and his wife Biance Censori were only given tickets to the Grammys red carpet, and not the actual ceremony.
The couple made headlines after the ceremony on February 3 when the model rocked up in a controversial see-through dress. The incident was believed to be a stunt seeing the couple recreate the Vultures 1 album cover.
In an explosive tirade, Kanye later claimed he has "dominion" over his wife, posting: "I have dominion over my wife. This ain't no woke a** feminist s**t. She's with a billionaire, why would she listen to any of you dumb a** broke b****es?
"People say the red carpet look was her decision... Yes, I don't make her do nothing she doesn't want to, but she definitely wouldn't have been able to do it without my approval, you stupid a** woke pawns."
