Akshay Kumar-Twinkle Khanna: Bollywood actress and writer Twinkle Khanna discussed open views about the marriage of her mother Dimple Kapadia in an interview recently. He told that when Akshay Kumar expressed his desire to marry him, his mother advised him to stay together for the first two years. Twinkle, which was shifted by a single mother, said that she kept distance from patriarchy in her life and her mother always inspired her to become self -sufficient.

Twinkle also shared that her parents, Dimple Kapadia and Rajesh Khanna, may not be legally separated, but they lived separately. His mother's influence in his childhood was deep, who gave him the freedom to take his own decisions.

Dimple Kapadia advised to stay in live-in

In an old interview with Twiks India, Twinkle said that when Akshay Kumar asked for permission to marry Dimple Kapadia, he suggested to stay together for the first two years instead of getting married immediately. This was contrary to the traditional thinking of the time, where the live-in relationship before marriage did not get acceptance in the society.

Learning from mother's experiences

Twinkle also said that her mother had advised her based on her own marital experience. He thought that if his parents lived together, then perhaps his life would have been different. He also admitted that his mother's strength and freedom inspired him to move forward in life.

Twinkle stayed away from patriarchy

Twinkle shared that due to being raised in a single mother's house, she remained from patriarchal thinking for a long time. There was no man in his house, so he did not realize how deep patriarchy is in the society.
