Obnews Tech Desk: ZOHO founder Sridhar Wambu has once again started a new debate about the language. He has advised the people of Tamil Nadu to learn Hindi so that they can provide better service to customers in North Indian markets – Mumbai, Delhi and Gujarat.
Vambu posted on X (East Twitter), saying that flexibility in languages can be commercially beneficial. He also said that the possibilities of jobs in rural areas are affected by the efficiency of speaking Hindi.
He clearly stated, “Not knowing Hindi in Tamil Nadu proves to be a big drawback.” He also revealed that he has started learning Hindi himself and so far about 20% Hindi has started understanding in 5 years.
ZOHO Chief Scientist Weambu urged the Tamils to learn Hindi, keeping political differences beyond. He described it as a smart business strategy in India's fast growing economy.
At the end of his post, he gave a message in both Tamil and Hindi – “Let's learn Hindi!” However, mixed reactions have come to light on his statement.
This is not the first time Sridhar Vambu is engulfed in linguistic controversies.
