February 27, Mumbai With “O Saathi Re,” filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has partnered with streaming behemoth Netflix once more to explore modern human emotions.

This follows the popularity of “Amar Singh Chamkila,” which starred Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh.

The cast of “O Saathi Re” includes Aditi Rao Hydari, Avinash Tiwary, and Arjun Rampal.

Every stage of “O Saathi Re’s” evolution caught me off guard. An magical fairy tale set amid the chaos of urban life, it is a contemporary tale with a touch of the past.

“I am both relieved and thrilled to have Arif helm the amazing ensemble of Avinash, Aditi, and Arjun (all of whom are excellent there), and it is the growing partnership with Netflix that allowed us to explore the surprisingly endearing realm of ‘O Saathi Re,'” Imtiaz stated, according to variety.com.

Alongside Mohit Choudhary, Imtiaz will co-executive produce the new series in addition to acting as its creator, writer, and showrunner. Variety.com says that Imtiaz and Amogh Kanaskar will write the series, while his brother Arif Ali, who helmed “She,” will serve as director.

The executive production team is completed by Vishal Bajaj and Pratik Nandkumar More (Shoot at Site), with Nidhi Sethia joining as creative producer.

Reliance Entertainment and Window Seat Films are the producers. By the end of this month, production is expected to start on “O Saathi Re,” which will explore “the vintage feeling of love in contemporary times.”

With Aditi Rao Hydari returning from “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,” Avinash Tiwary after his role in “Sikandar Ka Muqaddar,” and Arjun Rampal returning from “Rana Naidu” Season 2, the project brings the ensemble back to Netflix.

“We are excited to bring a story that delves into love, relationships, and human dilemmas — narrated in Imtiaz’s signature, deeply authentic style, an almost haunting quality to these stories,” said Tanya Bami, series head, Netflix India. It’s a novel and creative approach to relationships in the modern day.
