According to speculations, Johnny Depp will reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in a new Pirates of the Caribbean film.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer said in December of last year that two versions of the new movie were in development, one of which did not include Depp. Disney’s decision to bring him back, however, has already been verified.
Disney has not formally remarked on Depp’s comeback, and the production’s official start date is still uncertain.
Due to his legal troubles with his ex-wife Amber Heard, Depp was kicked off of the Pirates series in 2018. Even for $300 million, he had earlier said that he would not go back. However, there are already rumors that Disney is prepared to accommodate his demands and spend whatever to get him back.
Heard accused Depp of domestic violence, but Depp prevailed in his defamation action. Depp received $15 million from the jury, of which $5 million was for legal fees. Depp first demanded damages of $50 million. Heard was also awarded $2 million in damages for a different allegation by the jury.
