The beloved crime drama will return on Friday, February 28, with Mark Williams once again stepping into the shoes of the amateur detective priest, Father Brown, ready to serve the community of Kembleford in any way possible.

In this episode, he leads his group of friends on a mission to catch a murderer when someone unexpectedly dies at a writers' gathering.

Lady Felicia invites an esteemed group of writers to her opulent manor house, hoping to persuade them to publish her work.

However, her lack of originality proves to be a stumbling block as her guests prepare to critique.

Actress Nancy Carroll graces every series of Father Brown, with The Sisters of Aeschylus marking her first appearance in season 12.

Besides this BBC favourite, she has featured in Prime Suspect: Tennison, Will, Queens of Mystery, The Crown, Murder in Provenance, The Diplomat and Dalgliesh.

Eva Velasquez, a romance author, is one of the writers invited to the event.

She is portrayed by actress Pepa Duarte, who spent ten years acting and creating theatre in her native Peru before relocating to London in 2017.

She has only appeared in a few roles so far, including Trouble Will Find Us, No One Gets Out Alive and a short film called Flicker.

Dutch singer and actress Issy van Randwyck is known for her roles in Endeavour, The Nevers, Belgravia: The Next Chapter and The Death and Life of River Song.

She will play the charming crime writer Frances Whitfield in an upcoming episode of Father Brown.

Kaisa Hammarlund has had minor roles in Inspector Lewis, My House, Daddy's Head, The Sandhamn Murders and Prime Video's Hijack.

She is going to bring to life the role of "stern gothic novelist" Maxine Mortimer.

Unpleasant publisher Shermann Quinn, played by actor John Hopkins, puts everyone on edge when he arrives with plenty of scrutiny for the authors.

So it's not surprising when he is revealed as this week's victim, found in the library, seemingly poisoned by cyanide.

Hopkins is known for his roles as Sgt Dan Scott in Midsomer Murders, Lowell in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and Sir Francis Basset in the BBC drama Poldark.
