March 1, Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: Yuva Mumba, a committed young squad focused on nurturing the future generation of Kabaddi players, has been formally launched by U Mumba, after their illustrious history in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). According to the U Mumba news release, this effort is a major milestone in the franchise’s long-term goal of developing youthful talent and bolstering Indian Kabaddi’s future.
In an effort to develop a talent pipeline, U Mumba has continuously supported and concentrated on young athletes. Yuva Mumba will now act as a platform for up-and-coming athletes to demonstrate their abilities while being exposed to elite competition. The squad, which consists of players between the ages of 18 and 23, comprises U Mumba’s New Young Players (NYPs) as well as talented individuals who have been carefully recruited from all throughout the nation. The stalwarts of Yuva Mumba will now include players who have previously worn the U Mumba shirt, such as Mukilan S, Lokesh Ghosliya, and Deepak Kundu.
The Yuva Kabaddi Series All-Star Championship, a month-long competition that begins in Haridwar on March 6th, will mark Yuva Mumba’s competitive debut. The young athletes will use this as a stage to display their skills. The tournament will provide U Mumba the chance to scout and find possible future additions, with recently named Head Coach Rakesh Kumar closely monitoring the action.
Suhail Chandhok, CEO of U Mumba, emphasized the franchise’s dedication to long-term player development during his remarks at the Yuva Mumba launch.
“U Mumba has a long history of producing outstanding talent, and we have a reputation for nurturing up-and-coming talent. U Mumba’s domestic talent has excelled in the sport, whether it has been an Arjun Deshwal, Siddharth Desai, a younger Fazel Atrachali, or players like Mohit & Surender or Rishank Devadiga. For certain young people who are still making their way through the U Mumba stable, we want to keep up that road. In keeping with that, we are thrilled about the future potential of the players who will emerge as we introduce Yuva Mumba, our Youth Squad, today. Given the wealth of youthful talent in the nation, we expect that Yuva Mumba will open the path for the next generation of Indian kabaddi stars while U Mumba will serve as a melting pot for all those under 23. According to a news statement from U Mumba, Suhail Chandhok remarked.
Yuva Mumba’s debut fits with the team’s overarching objective of promoting kabaddi at the grassroots level and giving new players a chance to enter the professional ranks. Yuva Mumba will bring the same bold, exuberant style to the YKS All-Star Championship, carrying on the legendary orange and black colors of U Mumba.
