show star Storm Huntley has announced her replacement on her eponymous show while she departs on maternity leave on Friday (March 7). The 38-year-old Scottish star is expecting her second child with her husband Kerr Okan, singer in the band LaFontaines. The couple already have a son Otis who was born in July 2022.

She took to to reveal Matt Allwright would be stepping in to host her titular show, which sees her pop up on Jeremy's showdaily for a handover between the two programmes. In a clip posted to the social media channel she appeared bubbly as she showed off her huge baby bump in a blush pink dress.

"Well, the time has nearly come for me to head off in another very different adventure for a little while. I'm sure a few of you are thinking, I can't believe she's still here," she said showcasing her bump, "but Friday will be my last day for a few months.

"And while i'm off cradling this baby, my TV baby will be in the very safe and capable hands of the wonderful Matt Allwright.

"Now Matt is going to be taking over as the main anchor of the show in a couple of weeks time so you don't want to miss that, I will certainly be watching from home. You never know I may even call in," she teased.

Although Storm leaves on Friday, Matt will only begin covering from April 7 and until then there wil be a roster of presenters covering for the interim three weeks.

While her immediate replacement for the week commencing March 10 has yet to be confirmed, Matt will take the helm from March 17 for one week.

He will then be replaced by Alex Conran from March 24 who will kee the hosting seat warm until Matt takes over for the rest of Storm's leave on April 7

However Friday's will see a rotating roster of hosts made up of new and familiar faces to the show.

Matt is well known to viewers having previously presented has presented shows such as Watchdog, Rogue Traders, Food Inspectors, The Code, Fake Britain and The One Show for BBC One.

In a statement he confessed he was excited to take the helm. "I'm such a huge admirer of what Storm and the team do every single morning, so it's going to be a lot of fun looking after the show while she's on parental leave.

"I'm looking forward to debating some of the big issues of the day with our panellists - and also hearing what our brilliant callers have to say. I'm going to try to make it just as lively, engaging and topical as ever while Storm's away."

Storm Huntley airs Monday-Friday from 11.30am on Channel 5.
