Anyone with bleached hair knows that upkeep is a major commitment, and it’s only too easy for your hair to end up looking dry and frizzy, rather than sleek and shiny. Usually hair oils end up leaving my locks looking a bit lank or greasy, so I’ve tended to stay away from them in the past.

However, when ’s haircare brand REHAB launched its new High Shine collection, I decided to put it to the test to see if it could revive my hair. REHAB is already known for its Dose hair oil range, and the brand new (£20.80, was £26) turned out to be exactly what my hair was missing.

Whilst most hair oils are designed to be applied to damp hair, which in my experience can lead to you using too much and it drying looking greasy or limp. The , however, is to be used on dry hair which makes it much easier to apply correctly.

It also helps that the oil comes in , which you just twist open, rub into your hands then apply onto your hair. I was sceptical about the amount I would need (it looks like a pretty small capsule, and I have quite long, thick hair) however it was more than enough to work into my mid lengths and ends without needing more.

Plus as an added bonus, the capsules can be instantly dissolved in hot water, which means no additional waste. The also smells incredible, and I could still smell it on my hair hours later.

The effect was instant, too. Rather than having to wait to dry and style my hair like most shine-boosting treatments, I could immediately see my hair looked smoother and shinier, and it had tamed plenty of my flyaways and frizz.

The contains grapeseed oil, argan oil, squalene and glycerin, which all instantly boost your shine and help seal your strands with a mirror-like finish. The oil also has heat protection benefits, so you can style your hair afterwards without needing to add more product.

I tested it on my natural, unstyled hair, which tends to be a combination of wavy and curly, then used straighteners to style it. Although you could see the shine better on my styled hair, it also added an to my natural texture too.

This was definitely a bonus, as it means I can also apply the to my hair on days where I won’t be styling it but still want it to look a little more put together. Although I’ve long since given up on the idea of having ultra sleek glossy hair, REHAB’s hair oil has definitely put me one step closer – consider me a hair oil convert!

If you’re on the hunt for some more hair oils to add to your haircare routine, the is £19 and promises you 72 hours worth of frizz humidity control, leaving your hair looking shinier. Meanwhile the , £26.40 (was £33), is perfect for adding some shine and protection to your hair, with the brand’s iconic Cheirosa ’62 scent infused into it.
