A day after at least 38 people were injured in Latur, another similar accident has taken place on the same stretch as a car driver, who was trying to avoid a motorcycle on a highway in Maharashtra's Latur district on Tuesday, rammed into the rider and went off the divider, police said.

In the video, one can see a speeding car trying to avoid a crash as the two-wheeler rider tried to cut lanes and cross sides, and eventually rammed him while he was thrown in the air. The car went off the divider.

The accident occurred on the Nagpur-Ratnagiri Highway near Nandgaon Pati in Chakur tehsil, the same stretch where another similar accident took place a day before. The similar nature of the accident has made people request National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to look into the matter.

On Monday, officials said the bus was heading to Latur from Ahmedpur when it swerved to avoid hitting a motorcycle. The bus driver lost control of the wheel, causing the vehicle to overturn.

According to eyewitnesses, the bus was being driven at a high speed, and it skidded some distance before coming to a halt.

Several passengers sustained critical injuries to their limbs and were rushed to hospitals in ambulances and private vehicles, Padwal said.

The bus was carrying 48 passengers, including women and students who were on their way to appear for exams.
