Period dizziness: Women face many types of physical problems during periods, one of which is dizziness. Many women struggle with problems such as the head rotating, weakness and deteriorating balance before or during periods. This condition can occur for several reasons, including hormonal changes, blood pressure fluctuations and iron deficiency in the body.

If the problem of dizziness during periods occurs frequently, then it should not be ignored. It can also be a sign of nutrient deficiency or any health problem in the body. Let us know why there are dizziness during periods and what measures can be taken to overcome it.

Reason for dizziness during periods

Anemia

During menstruation, a part of blood comes out of the body, which can reduce the level of hemoglobin. If there is already a deficiency of iron in the body, then this problem can become more serious, which can cause dizziness.

Blood pressure fluctuations

Hormonal changes during periods may cause a decline in blood pressure, which makes the head feel lighter and can cause dizziness.

Lack of water in the body (dehydration)

During menstruation, there may be a lack of water in the body, which reduces blood pressure and starts dizzy.

Hormonal imbalance

Changes in estrogen and progesterone hormones affect blood flow in the brain, which can make it difficult to maintain balance.

Blood sugar

Some women feel less hunger during periods, which may cause blood sugar level to fall and there may be problems of moving heads.

What to do when you get dizzy?

Take food containing iron and vitamin-C

To avoid anemia, eat green vegetables, fruits, dry fruits and iron supplements. Vitamin-C increases the absorption of iron, so eat fruits like orange, lemon and amla.

Drink enough water

Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day to avoid dehydration. Coconut water and electrolyte drinks can also be beneficial.

Control blood pressure

If you have a low blood pressure problem, then eat salt foods or ORS solution. Do not stay on an empty stomach for a long time.

have a good sleep

Due to lack of sleep, the body feels tired, which increases the chances of dizziness. Get at least 7-8 hours of sleep.

Do yoga and light exercise

Yoga and light exercise improve blood circulation and make the body strong. Pranayama and deep breathing techniques can reduce the problem of dizziness.

When to contact a doctor?

If the dizziness is too much, feels like a blackout or any other serious symptoms (eg breathing, sharp heart beating), consult a doctor immediately.
