New Delhi: Popular classical singer, Sivasri Skandaprasad, has tied the knot with South BJP MP from Bengaluru Tejasvi Surya on March 6. The first official wedding picture of the newlywed couple is exclusively obtained by News9. The wedding took place in the presence of family members and close friends. According to Republic World report, the traditional wedding will be followed by a grand reception in the Gayatri Vihar grounds in Tejasvi Surya’s hometown in Bengaluru.
The wedding will also be followed by Kashi Yatra, Jeerige Bella Muhurtha and Laja Home on March 6. For those who are unaware, Jeerige Bella is a shastra that is considered a Muhurtham time during South Indian weddings. Laja Home, on the other hand, is a Hindu ritual involving the bride offering fried grains into a sacred fire.
For their D-Day, Sivasri Skandaprasad and Tejasvi Surya complemented each other in simple and traditional outfits. Ponniyin Selven 2 singer Sivasri Skandaprasad opted for bright yellow Kanchipuram silk sari teamed up with maang tikka, golden bangles, a pair of earrings, and a perfect bridal hairdo. Tejasvi Surya, on the other hand, was seen clad in a golden and white traditional wear.
Sivasri Skandaprasad is a renowned Carnatic singer and a Bharatnatyam artist from Chennai. Born on August 1, 1996, she is the daughter of Seerkazhi Sri J Skandaprasad, a Mridangam maestro. According to her LinkedIn profile, she describes herself as a “passionate painter”, who does freelancing projects and is also a “part-time model”.
She is a graduate in bio-engineering from SASTRA university and has also worked on drug induced developmental or fetal defects. Additionally, she has a diploma in Ayurvedic cosmetology from the PVA Ayurvedic hospital. She also has a Masters of Arts in Bharatanatyam from the University of Madras.
