The Jigra actress also revealed how her mother-in-law, Neetu Kapoor, came up with the idea to name their daughter Raha.

Alia Bhatt has shared some intriguing details about her life and parenthood on Jay Shetty’s podcast. Her comment on their second child’s name garnered a lot of attention.

“At this point, as eager parents, Ranbir and I asked our family group to recommend names for both boys and girls so we could be ready,” she said. We wanted to decide on a boy’s and girl’s names. We particularly loved one of the boy’s names out of the several female and boy names. “All right, what a sweet boy’s name.” I won’t tell you that just yet.

Then, Alia disclosed how Neetu Kapoor recommended the name Raha, claiming it would go well with the boy’s chosen name. “Okay, this name is lovely,” Alia remarked. Any more female names, then? Ranbir’s mother, my mother-in-law, proposed, “How about Raha? If you ever have a son, it will also fit very nicely with his name. It will be a great mix if you have a boy and a girl. She then recommended a girl-girl pairing as well. However, Raha won Ranbir and my hearts right away. Thus, we were prepared with two names: one for a girl and one for a boy.

Alia and Ranbir were married in April 2022 after dating for a number of years. In November 2022, they welcomed Raha, their first child. Since the couple’s Christmas 2023 face reveal, Raha’s public appearances have won over the hearts of internet users.
