Hyderabad: A four-member ANVI Robotics team entered the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) Tunnel in Domalapenta of Nagarkurnool district in Telangana on Friday to search for the eight workers who were trapped since the tunnel collapse on February 22.
The robotics team is accompanied by a professor from IIT Madras.
Additionally, cadaver dogs have been deployed inside the tunnel to aid in locating the missing workers.
On Thursday, the team, along with the IIT Madras professor, conducted an inspection of the tunnel's surroundings. Based on their observations, the ANVI Robotics team from Hyderabad resumed operations using robotic equipment today.
Disaster Management Secretary Arvind Kumar, stationed outside the tunnel, has been coordinating relief efforts and providing real-time support by receiving updates via mobile communication.
Upon receiving information about a battery issue inside the tunnel and the urgent need for a rose cutter, Arvind Kumar immediately arranged for a locomotive to transport the required equipment.
Relief operations have been intensified under the leadership of Arvind Kumar, along with Nagarkurnool District Collector Badawat Santosh and SP Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath, an official statement said.
