The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) intends to provide farmers in areas like Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, and Agra whose property is not included in the master plan-2041 with increased land compensation of 64.7%. Hundreds of farmers who purchased property before 2017 are expected to gain from the ruling.
Because this site is not included in the master plan, YEIDA has previously refused to provide the increased compensation. However, the authority would grab this property and include it in the master plan development after its board approval, according to Hindustan Times.
According to authorities cited by HT, YEIDA is now unsure about the overall quantity of land that fits under this category and the amount that the authority must give farmers in the increased compensation for the land.
We don’t know how many acres of property the authority has previously purchased directly, not understanding that it wouldn’t be used right away for any planned development projects. Additionally, the master plan-2041 that is being implemented for development along the Yamuna Expressway does not include this site. According to Arun Vir Singh, chief executive officer of YEIDA, “The board’s decision is to ensure that the farmers do not suffer and that they get what they deserve for their land on par with other farmers whose land is falling into the master plan zone.”
The Uttar Pradesh government created YEIDA on April 24, 2001, to develop the region between Greater Noida and Agra by establishing businesses that would create jobs and advance urban regions. Under YEIDA, 1,187 villages spread over six districts (Gautam Budh Nagar, Bulandshahar, Aligarh, Hathras, Mathura, and Agra) totaling almost 200,000 hectares, were designated.
