All Creatures Great and Small star Rachel Shenton has given fans a sneak peek into the filming of season six. The Channel 5 drama, inspired by James Herriot's cherished tales, revolves around the lives of veterinarians in the Yorkshire Dales during the late 1930s.

In this heartwarming series, veterinary surgeon Siegfried Farnon, played by Samuel West, takes James under his wing at Skeldale House. Siegfried's brother, Tristan, and their devoted housekeeper, Mrs Hall, complement them.

Rachel portrays the farmer's daughter, Helen Alderson, whose romance with James culminates in a marriage and the birth of their child.

With the show recently greenlit for a sixth instalment, the cast has made their way back to Yorkshire to kickstart production, with new episodes slated for release later in the year, reports .

Rachel sparked excitement among her followers on Friday (March 7) with an alluring behind-the-scenes video from the Alderson family farm amidst filming downtime.

The footage showcases the northern scenery basking under sunlight, after which Rachel flips the camera to reveal herself clad in simple overalls and a brown tweed jacket.

Mocking her on-set plight, she jokingly wrote, "Tough day at the office!" alongside a sunny emoji and tagged it with "#ACGAS #season6."

This snippet follows the official season SIX announcement just one week earlier, heralding the commencement of the show's filming and whipping up a fresh wave of anticipation.

"Exciting news - the cast and crew have officially kicked off filming for Season 6 in beautiful Yorkshire today! We can't wait to return to Darrowby with all of you soon," the show's official Instagram account posted, alongside an image of a clapperboard emblazoned with the show's logo.

Eager fans wasted no time expressing their joy in the comments, with one remarking: "Yay!! Our favourite show! So happy for this news!!"

Another fan exclaimed with delight: "Oh that's wonderful news! I cannot wait for its return! I also hope there are many more series in the pipeline!! Superb cast make it a dream!" while a third devotee commented: "I want this show to go on forever!"

Mirroring the enthusiastic sentiment, a fourth viewer shared: "My family and I watched the last episode of season five last night! So moving! Tears flowed! Such an extraordinary cast and story! Storytelling at its very best! Can't wait for season six!"

Season five captivated audiences with James's heartfelt reunion with his beloved wife Helen and baby Jimmy after his departure from RAF training due to a brucellosis diagnosis that barred him from service.

Rachel previously articulated her deep affection for the series, stating: "It's been such a privilege to play a role for five years. You get to see your character go through so many major milestones."

She continued with palpable enthusiasm: "It's a luxury that just keeps giving, season on season. Yeah, it's a real honour. I'm always excited to see what happens next."
