Mauricio Ruffy scored one of the best knockouts in UFC history after putting King Green out cold with a stunning spinning wheel kick at 313.

The young Brazilian has been a breath of fresh air since signing with the promotion last year. After defeating Jamie Mullarkey on his promotional debut, Ruffy then went toe-to-toe with James Llontop in his last outing back in November. In a tough, back-and-forth encounter, the Fight Nerds sensation got his hand raised on points.

He faced the toughest of his career in Green at UFC 313 - a fight which opened up the main card in Las Vegas. The American MMA veteran hasn't been seen in the cage since . The top lightweight contender is known for his all-out fighting style and certainly possessed the tools to topple Ruffy.

However, Ruffy showed why he is a force to be reckoned at 155lbs after producing the best knockout of his career. With fellow Fight Nerds star, and middleweight sensation, Caio Borralho in his corner and Jean Silva watching on, Ruffy was eager to put on a show in the fight capital.

As the first bell sounded, UFC commentators Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier were quick to sing Ruffy's praises, comparing his style to that of 's. The Brazilian's speed and awkward style appeared to catch Green off guard early as he was eager to press his rival down early doors in Las Vegas.

Green begun the clash a little hesitant to throw strikes - which was very uncharacteristic of him. Ruffy quickly caught King with a clean cross which backed the American against the fence. Despite rocking Green, Mauricio refused to rush in with the finish and remained calm. Just moments later, he then landed picture-perfect wheel kick that sent Green crashing to the canvas - knocking him out cold.

After faceplanting the floor, the whole commentary team were left stunned. Thankfully, moments later, Green was awake and back on his feet, but his face was all bloodied. Naturally, Ruffy was on cloud nine and celebrated in some style, executing several flips in the middle of the cage.

In a real knockout of the year contender, the Brazilian was quick to call out his next potential challenger. "Las Vegas, good night!" Ruffy said in his post-fight interview before calling out Beneil Dariush for a UFC Fight Night main event. Dariush is currently riding a two-fight losing streak and hasn't fought since losing to Arman Tsarukyan in 2023. The 35-year-old was scheduled to face Renato Moicano earlier this year, before their bout was eventually scrapped.
