Spring has arrived and while the weather is slowly getting warmer it is nowhere hot enough to start trying to do your outdoors yet. This can make washing bigger items like incredibly frustrating as they can take days or even a week to dry indoors.

However, a sleep expert and CEO of MattressNextDay, has shared a quicker way to dry your laundry using a simple technique that only requires a towel. Martin said: "Create a quick-dry method using a clean, dry towel. Lay your damp bed sheet flat on a towel, then roll it up tightly."

Martin added: "Press down to help the towel absorb excess moisture. Unroll and then hang near a radiator or warm area to complete the drying process."

The towel technique helps bed sheets dry quickly as the towel will absorb most of the moisture from the sheet which helps evaporation when you hang the bedding back up to dry.

Since the bedding is less damp it will be dry in only a few hours rather than having to wait ages to make your bed again.

However, if you want to help your sheets dry even quicker, make sure to give them a good shake before hanging up to dry, as this increases airflow between the fabric.

Martin said: "This simple action helps separate the fabric fibres, allowing better air circulation.

"Shaking also prevents sheets from clumping together, which can create damp pockets that take much longer to dry. It's a quick trick that can significantly reduce overall drying time."

Taking the time to shake towels also loosens the fibres, which can help make sheets softer and smooth out wrinkles so you will not have to iron your bedding.

Once you are ready to hang your sheets to dry, place them somewhere warm in your home, or consider hanging them in your bathroom.

The bathroom may seem unusual for clean laundry, but it is usually a hot place in the home, so you will not have to worry about switching on the heating.

Martin said: "Not many people know, but your bathroom can be an ideal drying space for bed sheets. If you have a large drying rack, position it near the bathroom's extractor fan or window. The combination of residual bathroom humidity and air circulation can help sheets dry more quickly."

If you follow these three simple drying tips, your sheets will dry in only a few hours and be much fluffier.
