Ranvir Shorey , known for his performances in films like 'Khosla Ka Ghosla', 'Traffic Signal,' 'Bheja Fry', 'Mithya', has carved a niche for himself in Bollywood. More recently, he grabbed headlines for his stint on the controversial reality show Bigg Boss OTT 3. The actor also gained attention for his bold statements, personal revelations, and more.
After the show ended, an old interview of Ranvir Shorey resurfaced, where he spoke about his late friend, Sushant Singh Rajput . In the interview, he made some shocking revelations about Sushant’s death and also shared insights into his equation with his ex-girlfriend Pooja Bhatt ’s father, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt .
During a conversation on ANI Podcast with Smita Prakash, Ranvir Shorey revealed how Mahesh Bhatt manipulated him, even calling his actions "duplicitous." He further shared that he once had great respect for the filmmaker, but things changed after his fallout with Bhatt’s daughter, Pooja Bhatt. He quoted, "'I had great regard for Mr Bhatt till the fiasco happened when I was seeing his daughter (Pooja Bhatt). Then I saw that actually whatever respect I had for him was being used to manipulate me… very duplicitous behaviour going on."
Further, Ranvir spoke about the existence of gangs and lobbies in Bollywood. Referring to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, he pointed out how certain groups in the industry gang up against individuals and push them out. He further claimed that while many in the industry acknowledge this off the record, he is willing to say it openly.
He stated, "And then this thing happened with Sushant a couple of years later, and then I felt like I had to speak out. But all this is, you ask anybody from the film industry, anybody, most of them will say it off record, I can say it on record, I have no problem. This fully happens, you know, ganging up against someone, elbowing them out, standing on somebody's toes, scuttling somebody's career. This happens. This is a fact."
Furthermore, Ranvir also reflected on his bond with the late Sushant Singh Rajput, with whom he worked in Abhishek Chaubey’s 2019 crime thriller Sonchiriya. While he didn’t describe their relationship as particularly close, he shared that they were friends, spent time together during the shoot, and got along well. He also mentioned that Sushant had visited his home a few times.
