Mumbai: The BMC has urged the residents of Ghatkopar and nearby areas to boil drinking water for 10 days starting from March 17th. The BMC has completed construction of a section of low level reservoir in Ghatkopar and the water supply from the new lines will be started from March 17th onwards.

Some of the prominent areas where the new line will supply water are Vidyavihar West, Ghatkopar West, Pant Nagar, Ghatkopar-Andheri Expressway, LBS Road among others.

To avoid consumption of contaminated water the residents are urged the residents to boil and purify water. BMC has provided detailed list of areas where the new line will supply water which includes: Narayannagar- Chirag Nagar, Azad Nagar, Ganesh Maidan, New Maniklal Colony, NSS Marg, Mahindra Udyan, DS Marg, Khalai Village, Kirol Village, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Naoroji Gali, H. R. Desai Marg, Shraddhanan Marg, JV Marg.

Other areas include Bhim Nagar, Pawar Chal, Lower Bhimnagar, Crime Branch Premises, Nityanand Nagar, CGS Colony, Gangawadi, MTNL Gully, adjacent area of Shreyas Signal and HR Desai Marg.

Meanwhile, after the completion of the repair of section number two of Ghatkopar low level reservoir, the work of repairing section one will be taken up soon.
