Sunaina Roshan, sister of Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan , has bravely opened up about her battle with alcoholism and admitted that it was the 'worst phase' of her life.
In a tell-all interview, Sunaina shared details of her addiction and her struggles on her road to recovery while in rehab. Speaking to Siddharth Kanan, she revealed that she lost control over her drinking during a period of emotional vulnerability. "I was going through a very difficult time. I was very emotionally vulnerable, and to numb my emotions, I started drinking," she recalled. Talking about the effect it had on her life, she said, "I think it was the worst phase of my life. I had fallen off beds and injured myself. It’s a very vicious cycle to be in."
She also revealed that her finances were curtailed during this period as she wasn’t given any money and her credit cards were taken away.
Recognizing the need for professional help, Sunaina decided to enter rehab and took the initiative to find a suitable facility. While stating that it was not a regular facility, but a 28-day course, she said, "It was worse than normal rehab. I don’t know what normal rehab is like, but this was in one room, for 89 hours. They were just grilling you."
Following her stint in rehab, she revealed that she was soon faced with the news of her father, Rakesh Roshan ’s cancer diagnosis, which was another blow to her recovery. The revelation, she said, left her sleepless and in need for urgent medical assistance.
Since then, Suhana has often been seen joining Hrithik and Rakesh in leading a healthy lifestyle. She has also been seen accompanying the two on workout routines besides other family bonding events and dinners.
On the work front, buzz is that Hrithik and Rakesh are back at work on ' Krrish 4 '. While the film is still in the early stages, the director confirmed that fans can look forward to some more details soon.
