Kunchacko Boban-Priyamani's 'Officer on Duty' locks premiere date on Netflix

The Malayalam action thriller, Officer On Duty, starring Kunchacko Boban and Priyamani, is all set to premiere on Netflix on March 20, the streamer announced on Saturday.

The film, directed by Jithy Ashraf and written by Shahi Kabir, has been a commercial success since its theatrical release in February.

Netflix will offer the film in multiple languages including Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada with English subtitles.

Officer On Duty stars Boban as a demoted cop, who takes charge of investigating a fake gold chain case.

However, the story takes a turn as he learns of a dangerous gang of drug peddlers, who are making teenage girls their targets for revenge.

Jagadish, Vishak Nair, and Aadukalam Naren also star in the film.

It is produced by Martin Prakkat, Renjith Nair, and Siby Chavara.

Box office success


Officer On Duty has reportedly become the second highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2025 (so far).

The film's success further perpetuates the trend of the Malayalam industry producing fantastic crime stories and thrillers.

Other Malayalam films that were released in 2025 such as Ponman, Rekhachithram, Identity, and Dominic and the Ladies's Purse have also received a positive response at the box office.
