Amit Shah gifts guitar to Mizoram's 7-year-old singing sensation

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has gifted a guitar to seven-year-old Esther Lalduhawmi Hnamte, a young singing prodigy from Mizoram.

The gesture came after Hnamte's mesmerizing rendition of Vande Mataram in Aizawl during Shah's visit to the northeastern state.

The Union Minister lauded the child prodigy on social media, saying her love for India was clear in her song.

Hnamte first shot to fame in 2020, when her cover of Maa Tujhe Salaam went viral.

Her powerful voice and patriotic spirit have won the hearts of many, and the Mizoram government has conferred several awards on her.

The accolades include a special appreciation by the Governor of Mizoram, Retired General Vijay Kumar Singh.

Shah's Mizoram visit was included in his three-day tour of Assam and its neighboring states.

While in Aizawl, he was present at a land transfer ceremony where the Assam Rifles had handed over land to the Mizoram government.

The Union Minister lauded the Assam Rifles for their service toward the people of Mizoram and said this gesture was an exemplary standard in commitment toward state welfare.

Shah also addressed the shifting of the Assam Rifles's headquarters from Central Aizawl to Zokhawsang, calling it a historic milestone in the Indian government's commitment toward the development of Mizoram.

He said the move was not merely an administrative decision, but a symbol of the government's responsibility toward the Mizo people.

The relocation meets a 30-35-year-old demand, Shah said.
