TTE has more rights than TC. TC can check tickets only at the railway station, whereas TTE checks the tickets of passengers while traveling with them in the train.

TTE has an important role in Indian Railways. They not only check the tickets of passengers in trains but also confirm their tickets and provide them seats and also impose fine on passengers traveling without tickets. Today we are going to tell you how much salary these government employees, who usually roam around in black coats and white shirts, work on and how much their salary will increase after the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission. So let's know.

How much is the salary of TTE

The salary of Traveling Ticket Examiner (TTE) in Indian Railways is determined on the basis of their grade pay and experience. According to the 7th Pay Commission, the basic salary of a TTE ranges from ₹9,400 to ₹35,000 per month, which includes a grade pay of ₹1,900. Apart from this, they are also provided with dearness allowance (DA), house rent allowance (HRA) and other allowances, which can take the total monthly salary to Rs 50,000 to Rs 70,000 or even more after experience and promotion. Let us tell you that there is a difference between TC and TTE. TTE has more powers than TC. TC can check tickets only at the station and railway station, while TTE checks the tickets of passengers while traveling with them in the train.

How much will be the increase after the 8th Pay Commission?

The recommendations of the Eighth Pay Commission are likely to be implemented from January 2026. Under this commission, the salary of the employees will be increased on the basis of the fitment factor. If the fitment factor is set at 2.86, the minimum basic salary can increase from ₹ 18,000 to ₹ 51,480. This increase will be about 69 times, which shows the increase in the salary of central employees in the last 40 years. The exact increase in the salary of TTE can be estimated on the basis of their current pay-level and grade pay. For example, if the basic salary of TTE is currently Rs 25,500, then it can increase to about ₹ 72,930 when the fitment factor 2.86 is applied. Let us tell you that the information given is tentative and has been collected on the basis of different reports.
