Subsequently, he made his T20 debut for Maharashtra against Saurashtra in the 2012-13 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on 18 March 2013. Then in the 2022 IPL mega auction, Rahul Tripathi was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad at a huge price of Rs 8.50 crore. Since then he has been associated with Hyderabad franchise. In IPL 2022, Rahul performed a big performance and scored a total of 413 runs in 13 matches for SRH at an average of 37.55. The franchise retained him on the same amount for 2023 IPL. Rahul Tripathi was first included in the Indian cricket team for the two -match T20 series against Ireland in June 2022, but did not get a chance to play.
