For many people, expenses like petrol and diesel are an important part of their monthly spending. However, most credit cards do not give reward points on fuel transactions. Many credit cards charge a 1% surcharge on fuel transactions. However, you get huge savings by filling fuel with a fuel credit card. One such card is the IndianOil RBL Bank XTRA Credit Card. Through this card, you can save 8.5 percent on every purchase of petrol and diesel, that is, it is allowing you to save Rs 85 on every thousand rupees of fuel purchase.

IndianOil RBL Bank XTRA Credit Card is a co-branded fuel credit card. Private sector RBL Bank launched this co-branded RuPay contactless credit card last year in collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). This card offers reward points. If you spend Rs 45,000 monthly or Rs 5.4 lakh annually, you can get 250 liters of free petrol annually. You get 8.5% value back by using this card at Indian Oil pumps.

Features of the card

Opportunity to earn 15 fuel points (reward rate - 7.5%) on every Rs 100 spent at Indian Oil pumps. Maximum limit of 2000 fuel points in a month in this category.

Opportunity to earn 2 fuel points (reward rate - 1%) on expenses made in all other categories.

As a milestone benefit, you can earn 1000 fuel points on a quarterly expenditure of Rs 75,000.

If you make payments of fuel purchases ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 4,000 at petrol pumps using this card, you will not have to pay a 1% fuel surcharge. A maximum of Rs 100 fuel surcharge can be waived in a billing cycle.

This card is equipped with contactless technology, which also provides customers the facility of 'tap and pay' i.e. payment can be made by simply tapping on the POS machine without swiping the card.

Charges of RBL Bank Extra Credit Card

The membership fee for the RBL Bank Extra Credit Card is Rs 1,500.

However, the annual fee will be waived if Rs 2.75 lakh is spent in a year.

Saving of Rs 8.5 on every Rs 100 spent

15 fuel points are earned for every Rs 100 spent on Indian Oil. These 15 fuel points can buy fuel equivalent to Rs 7.5, giving a benefit of 7.5 percent. When a 1 percent fuel surcharge waiver is added to the 7.5 percent benefit, a total benefit of 8.5 percent is obtained. Those who spend more on filling petrol at Indian Oil pumps can apply for this card.
