The 40-year-old star took Hindi cinema by storm in 2017 with Raees. The crime thriller, directed by renowned filmmaker Rahul Dholakia, was headlined by superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Excel Entertainment, the film was considered a commercial success at the Box Office. Mahira portrayed the character of the wife of the anti-hero protagonist in Raees.

Welcome Qamar

The renowned actress appeared opposite the late actor Irrfan Khan in Hindi Medium. The comedy drama was written and directed by Saket Chaudhary. Its plot centered around a wealthy couple from Delhi who wanted to get their daughter admitted to a prestigious English-medium school. Hindi Medium opened to mostly positive reviews on May 19, 2017.

Mawra hocane

She made her Bollywood debut in 2016 with Sanam Teri Kasam, directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. The much-talked-about movie initially failed to make a significant impact at the Box Office. The 31-year-old diva was a part of the late actress Sridevi starrer Mom in 2017. The film follows a furious mother who sets out to avenge her stepdaughter. Mom also featured Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna in important roles. It boasted chartbuster music composed by Academy Award-winning AR Rahman.
