Indore (Madhya Pradesh): As the bright sunshine prevails in the state after a brief relief from heat with rain and hail, Madhya Pradesh is experiencing a steady rise in the temperature. The mercury has breached 39°C, with several districts witnessing intense heat.
According to forecasts some areas may experience heatwave conditions between March 27 and 31 as temperatures might surpass 40°C. Districts of Gwalior, Indore and Ujjain divisions were the hottest on Sunday.
Current weather conditions across the state
According to the Meteorological Department , a weak Western Disturbance over the Himalayas has had a very minimal impact on the region’s weather. As a result, daytime temperatures have increased across the state.
On Sunday, there was an evident increase in daytime temperature. The mercury soared up to 39 °C in Ratlam, 38.8 °C in Narmadapuram, 37.4 °C in Dhar, 37 °C in Khargon, 36.5 °C in Guna-Betul, 36.4 °C in Narsinghpur and 36 °C in Mandla.
Among major cities, Ujjain recorded the highest temperature at 36°C, followed by Indore (35.4°C), Bhopal (35.1°C), Jabalpur (34.9°C), and Gwalior (34.7°C).
Heatwave to hit Madhya Pradesh after 27th March
The Meteorological Department stated that Madhya Pradesh will experience the effects of heat again in the end of the month. Several cities, can witness the mercury rising over 40 °C .
Generally, if the daytime temperature breaches more than 40 degrees or more than 4.6 degrees than normal, then the condition of heat wave is considered.
The coming 4 months will be the hottest. The weather department's forecast has indicated that 15 to 20 days of heat wave might persist from March to May.

March 24: Clear skies with the sun right above head. This will increase the effect of heat. And there is no sign of rain
March 25: Heat will continue. An increase of 2 to 3 degrees will be marked in the day temperature.
