The park area near the Back Beach’s flagpole, featuring sea-view walkways and flower gardens, is almost finished, with new greenery planted throughout the area.
To facilitate the renovation, the People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau reclaimed over 28 hectares of land along the Back Beach coastline, previously assigned to the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Construction Company, now VRC Real Estate and Investment JSC.
Open spaces with small landscape structures are gradually taking form. The park section stretching from the Tourism Management and Support Center headquarters to the front of a five-star hotel is nearing completion.

Granite paving stones have been laid along the park, and freshwater foot-washing pools have been installed for visitors to use after returning from the beach.

According to the contractor, about 1,000-1,200 workers and 100 construction vehicles are currently working simultaneously on-site. Certain tasks, such as tile paving and concrete pouring, are being carried out overnight to meet the project’s timeline.
New trees, including coconuts, palms, fish poison trees, and seagrapes, have been planted along the beach to enhance the area’s aesthetic.
Workers are installing roofing for service station No.3 at the intersection with Le Hong Phong Street. The entire project includes six public service stations, with underground sections nearly complete and above-ground structures progressing.
Construction at the final segment near Nguyen An Ninh Street is progressing slower than planned.
Doan Hai Linh, Acting Director of Vung Tau City’s Investment and Construction Project Management Board, stated that approximately 60% of the project has been completed. Work at Thuy Van Square has been temporarily halted for design adjustments and an architectural competition.
Due to delays in land handover, the project’s final segment was granted a two-month extension. However, primary areas remain on track and will be ready to serve residents and visitors during the upcoming Reunification Day and Labor Day holiday from April 30 to May 4.
