Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been one of the longest running shows currently on TV. The show has had some intriguing characters which became household name, one of them has been Kavi Kumar Azad , best known for playing the beloved character Dr. Hansraj Hathi on the long-running Indian sitcom. The actor sadly passed away on July 9, 2018, due to cardiac arrest . He was 46 years old at the time.
Did you know that before his demise the actor who loved eating onscreen also owned a Food Joint in Mumbai. Recently, a fan took to his Instagram handle, sharing a glimpse of the food joint and sharing that it was owned by Kavi Kumar Azad, and later the eatery has been run by his family member. The fan even interacted with the staff, who shared, 'Kavi, sir had opened this store in 2016, and he would make sure to serve his fans and meet him whenever he had his offs or got free from the shoot. His co-stars have also visited the place too.'


The fan penned, "Unknown Store of Dr Hathi from TMKOC Late Kavi Kumar Azad started this store in 2016. This store is now run by his family Members. This is a franchise store of Kusum Rolls which serves variety of Rolls Veg & Non veg. Late Kavi Kumar Azad used to Handle this business, serve the customers whenever he was off from Shoot. There used to be huge crowd to Meet Dr hathi."
Azad had been associated with the show for nearly a decade and had become a fan favorite for his humorous and warm portrayal of Dr. Hathi. His sudden death shocked his co-stars and the show's fans across the country. Prior to his passing, he was reportedly unwell and had been admitted to Wockhardt Hospital in Mira Road, Mumbai.


The show's team paid heartfelt tributes to him, and his absence left a significant void in the ensemble cast. His contribution to Indian television, especially through Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, continues to be fondly remembered.
