Lucknow: The prices of domestic gas cylinders in Uttar Pradesh have been increased once again, which has put more burden of inflation on the people of the state. From Tuesday, 8 April 2025, the central government announced an increase in the prices of domestic gas cylinders by Rs 50, which has increased the prices of gas cylinders even more.
Impact of increased prices
After this increase, gas cylinders have changed in major cities and districts of Uttar Pradesh. For example, the domestic gas cylinder of 14.2 kg is now getting Rs 890.5 in the capital Lucknow. Similarly, prices have been increased in Gorakhpur, Rs 915, Rs 916.5 in Varanasi, Rs 850.5 in Meerut, Rs 865.5 in Agra, and in other cities.
This increase was not limited to urban areas only, but its effects can also be seen in rural areas of UP. The price of gas cylinders in districts like Jhansi, Mathura, Rae Bareli, and Ballia has also increased to Rs 933 in Ballia, Rs 876 in Farrukhabad and Rs 896 in Sitapur.
Impact on Ujjwala scheme also
Along with this increase by the central government, the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme have also faced inflation. Under the Ujjwala scheme, the poor are given free gas connections, but the prices of increased cylinders will now be overshadowed by these beneficiaries. In such a situation, the question arises whether the facility provided under this scheme will still be effective for the poor or not.
Let us know that due to the increase in the prices of gas cylinders, it is clear that inflation is increasing continuously on the general public. Especially the increased prices of gas cylinders will affect the budget of housewives, for which the cost of the kitchen is already a challenging issue.
