From Argentina under Javier Milei to Hungary under Viktor Orbán, India under Narendra Modi, and Turkey under Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, similar patterns emerge: universities are defunded, critical scholars are demonised and the very foundation of academic inquiry is threatened.
