Louise Minchin from BBC Breakfast has been gushing about her latest venture saying "it's a real honour" as she offers a sneak peek into her new daytime series.

During her recent stint on The One Show aired on Friday (April 11), the television host chatted with Clara Amfo and Gabby Logan about stepping into her new role on Rip Off Britain.

December 2024 brought news from the confirming that Louise would take over from on the acclaimed consumer rights show which has been airing since 2009.

Having taken the reins in January, Louise now hosts alongside veterans Gloria Hunniford and Julia Somerville.

As the former BBC Breakfast favourite spoke on The One Show this evening, her enthusiasm was visible as she anticipates the second series of the programme that was a staple of her younger years, reports .

"It's such an honour to be a part of the family. I grew up watching the legends that are Gloria, Julia and Angela, so to be in the same room as them and presenting the show alongside them is absolutely amazing," shared Louise.

Her affection for the show was evident as she continued: "I love what the show does. Every time I do one of the programmes, I take something away and pass it on to my family."

She elaborated, adding: "It's a real honour, and they make me laugh as well. I mean, I know it's a serious programme doing serious things, but they're just brilliant."

Louise also gave a hint of what's to come in the fresh series, mentioning a "very interesting" segment concerning a dog adopted from Romania after suffering a gunshot.

Unfortunately for his new owners, they quickly discovered that his microchip wasn't logged with a government-approved database, meaning if the pooch ever got lost, finding him would be a nightmare.

Louise highlighted how crucial insurance can be when she recounted how one poor bloke found himself under his collapsing glass conservatory. Although he attempted to claim compensation, luck wasn't on his side as the installation firm had already folded, leaving him out of pocket.

"We've been helping him with that, but there's other people that have those kind of stories," Louise said, with Gabby reassuring the audience that thankfully, the man escaped the ordeal unharmed.
