Actor Nicky Katt , best known for his role as Clint Bruno in the cult classic ' Dazed and Confused ', died at the age of 54. News of his demise was made public through a statement by his lawyer, although no cause of death was revealed. However, a new report on TMZ has claimed that Katt died by apparent suicide.
Law enforcement sources confirmed to the portal that Katt was found dead in his Los Angeles-area apartment on April 8. His body was discovered by his landlord, who had previously visited the apartment about a week earlier to remind Katt that his rent was overdue. On returning five days later to collect the rent, the landlord reportedly found the front door open and discovered Katt's body hanging in the bedroom.

No suicide note was found at the scene.
According to the report, authorities believe the actor had been dead for more than a day prior to being found. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
Born in South Dakota, Katt gained recognition in the 1980s and '90s with a string of roles in both television and film. He began his career as a child actor and later became a character actor specializing in unsympathetic henchmen, working with acclaimed directors such as Richard Linklater, Christopher Nolan and Steven Soderbergh . He appeared in hit TV series such as Monk, Law & Order, and Boston Public, where he portrayed the intense and unconventional teacher, Harry Senate.
On the big screen, Katt’s resume included appearances in A Time to Kill, Sin City, Boiler Room, School of Rock, and The Way of the Gun. However, it was his performance in Dazed and Confused that solidified his status as a fan favourite.
Katt was previously married to Annie Morse from 1999 to 2001. The couple later divorced.
