As part of his current trip to India, US Vice President JD Vance, his wife Usha Vance, and their three children, Ivan, Vivek, and Mirabel, visited the Taj Mahal in Agra on Wednesday. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave them a warm welcome. The Vance family headed straight to the famous Taj Mahal as soon as they landed in Agra. However, in the sweltering heat of Agra, the three youngsters who accompanied them were caught in frustration throughout their tour. The temperature in Agra was close to 40 degrees Celsius when they went to see the famous monument.

JD Visit to India by Vance
Vance started his India vacation by visiting the Akshardham Temple in the capital after arriving in New Delhi on Monday with a high-level entourage. Later, he and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had bilateral talks. The Vance family took a late-night flight to Jaipur after the meeting. The US Vice President went to the ancient Amer Fort in Jaipur with his family. Vance took in the history of the Pink City while riding in an open vehicle from the Hathi Stand and saw the Kesar Kyari Bagh, Mavtha Sarovar, and the fort’s outer walls.

Traditional Rajasthani hospitality and lively cultural performances characterised the fort tour. Vance commended Prime Minister Modi’s leadership in a speech later in the day at the Rajasthan International Centre, adding, “I told Prime Minister Modi last night – he has approval ratings that would make me jealous.” He praised Prime Minister Modi for being a “very tough negotiator” who “fights fiercely for India’s commercial interests”.

Vance made the following claim while discussing US-India relations: “The US and India will move forward together through mutual cooperation across many sectors.” “The 21st century will be shaped by the strength of this relationship,” he said, reiterating the US commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific and highlighting the strategic significance of the India-US collaboration. Defending nations, creating amazing things, and inventing with cutting-edge technology are the three main pillars that Vance also described as defining the expanding partnership between the two countries.
Vance emphasised President Trump’s vision for the world economy, saying, “President Trump wants to rebalance global trade so that the US, along with allies like India, can build a better future.” A major turning point in bilateral relations, the US Vice President’s visit is anticipated to explore greater collaboration in sectors ranging from infrastructure and military to technology and innovation.
