Changes in the mass marriage scheme

Financial assistance is given by the Uttar Pradesh government for the marriage of daughters. Through the mass marriage scheme, the government used to provide financial assistance of Rs 51,000 for the marriage of daughters. But now the government has increased the amount given in this scheme from Rs 51,000 to Rs 1 lakh.

Out of this, Rs 60,000 will be sent directly to the daughter's account under the scheme. Apart from this, Rs 25,000 will be given as a gift to the newly married couple. Apart from this, the remaining Rs 15,000 will be spent on organizing the wedding ceremony.

These daughters get the benefit

Some eligibility criteria have been set to avail the benefits of the mass marriage scheme of the Uttar Pradesh government. Under this scheme, benefits are given to the daughters of those families whose annual income is up to Rs 3 lakh or less. Earlier this limit was up to Rs 2 lakh. The age of the girl taking benefit in the scheme should be 18 years or more. The girl's marriage should be under the mass marriage scheme.

To avail the benefits of Uttar Pradesh government's mass marriage scheme, eligible families can apply by visiting their nearest Common Service Center or the office of the Social Welfare Department. To apply, you will need some important documents which will include Aadhar card, income certificate, residence certificate and marriage-related documents.
