Kedarnath Trek Route: Kedarnath Temple, located in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand state, is a major religious place, where millions of devotees come to visit every year. However, to reach Kedarnath, devotees have to travel hard 16 km long trekking, which is not only physically challenging, but this journey is full of full devotion and devotion. The doors of Kedarnath have been opened from May 2 and now this journey has again opened to the devotees.

The way to reach the Kedarnath temple is only available as a walk. Starting the journey from Rishikesh and Haridwar, devotees start the track via Guptkashi, Sonprayag, and Gaurikund. A 16 km long trekking trip begins from Gaurikund, which provides a unique spiritual experience. This track passes through forests, mountains and difficult paths, which tests both the courage and reverence of the devotees.

Kedarnath Yatra begins with Gaurikund, which is an important stop. A 16 km trekking journey begins from here, which is a long journey of about 6 to 8 hours. There are many small and big stops in this journey, such as Jungle Chatti, Bhimbali, Linchauli, and finally the Kedarnath base camp. After these stops, devotees reach close to the Kedarnath temple, where they get the benefit of divine darshan.

The path of this journey is difficult and challenging, but the beautiful view of nature and spiritual energy inspires devotees every kilometer. The journey includes major stops:

  • Gaurikund to Jungle Chatti (6 km)

  • Jungle Chatti to Bhimbali (4 km)

  • Bhimbali to Linchauli (3 km)

  • Linchauli to Kedarnath Base Camp (4 km)

  • Kedarnath Temple (1 km) from Kedarnath Base Camp

Trekking difficulty and available services

The Kedarnath trek is placed in moderate to difficult category. It usually takes 6 to 8 hours to complete this trek. Horse or mule service is available for those who are unable to travel on foot, which costs between ₹ 2500 to ₹ 4000. Apart from this, palanquin service is also available especially for the elderly and unable to devotees.

If you want to use the helicopter service, then the facility of helicopter booking from Guptkashi, Fata and Sirsi is also provided. Online booking of this service is mandatory.
