Spotify wants people to pay for its service so the premium version gets new features and some of them for the free users.

Spotify continues to focus on getting more people to pay but something for free users as well

Spotify has rolled out upgrades aimed at enhancing the current listening and playlist curation experience of users. It has altered the design of the Queue option, which can be found at the bottom of the Now Playing screen.

Additionally, features like the Sleep Timer, Smart Shuffle, and repeat are now easily accessible thanks to the redesign. According to Spotify, users will now be able to quickly customise their track lists by finding Add, Sort, and other playlist control options at the top of every playlist. The updates were announced on May 7.

This comes after the company announced that its AI Playlist feature would be extended to more than 40 countries, including the UK, Australia, and Singapore.

New Spotify Features

Spotify Premium members can benefit from a revamped Queue feature that now has controls for Shuffle, Repeat, Sleep Timer, and more.

The platform will automatically suggest tracks that can be added when the queue-up list is finished, ensuring that the music keeps playing.

Additionally, it has made it possible to disable Autoplay and Smart Shuffle in the Spotify app’s settings. The updated Hide button has been made more intuitive – if a listener doesn’t like a track-in the playlist, they can tap it to prevent it from playing again.

Moreover, a new Snooze option has been added, which temporarily deletes a track from your 30-day list of recommended songs. The company says that more users will soon be able to use this feature, which is now being tested for Premium subscribers.

The addition of mobile playlist control capabilities is another noteworthy change that follows the release. Each playlist has Add, Sort, and Edit buttons at the top that allow users to create a track list, modify the title, make their own cover art, or rearrange the order in the queue.

Furthermore, Spotify claims that a new feature (+) at the bottom-right corner of its mobile app has made it simpler to create a new playlist. Users will be able to use AI Playlist, join a Blend, access Jam, and work together with friends. The last two are only available to Spotify Premium users for now.
