Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad Sarathi Scholarship 2025-26 Scheme: The Maharashtra Government, on behalf of the Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Institute of Research, Training and Human Development (Sarathi), has released the official notification for the "Scholarship Scheme for Meritorious Boys and Girls for Higher Education Abroad for the Year 2025-26." The scheme is intended to extend support to financially eligible students from the Maratha community who have achieved or are likely to achieve entry in the highly ranked foreign universities.



Qualified applicants who are residents of Maharashtra and belong to the Maratha, Kunbi, Kunbi Maratha, and Maratha Kunbi community students are eligible to apply for foreign postgraduate diplomas, foreign postgraduate degrees, or doctoral (Ph.D.) programs in foreign institutions listed within the top 200 QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World University Rankings institutions between April 2025 and March 2026.


Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad Sarathi Scholarship 2025-26 Scheme: How many students will be sponsored?


The scheme will sponsor a total of 75 students in various disciplines. They are 20 Ph.D. and 25 postgraduate diploma scholarships in engineering, 6 in architecture, 3 in management, 15 in science, 9 in commerce and economics, 9 in arts, 4 in law, and 3 in pharmaceutical sciences.


Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad Sarathi Scholarship 2025-26 Scheme: Eligibility Criteria


The eligibility for this recruitment is:


1. The candidates must possess an unconditional offer letter from a foreign qualifying institute. Conditional offers are not admissible.


2. The family income for the year 2024–25 must not exceed ₹8 lakhs. The income documents, such as ITRs, Form 16, and certificates issued by the competent authorities, are needed.


3. Non-creamy layer certificates and affidavits may be requested in some cases.


Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad Sarathi Scholarship 2025-26 Scheme: How to apply?


To apply for this scholarship scheme, applicants must follow the steps mentioned below:


1. The candidates are required to fill in their application online at fs.maharashtra.gov.in under the link of Planning Department.


2. After the online submission, the applicants have to submit the hard copy of the application and the documents personally only at the office of Sarathi, Room 407, Headquarters Building, Gopal Ganesh Agarkar Road, Pune – 411004, by 6:15 PM on or before June 16, 2025.


Note: Offline or late submission will not be entertained. Applications made after that duration will not be accepted.
