has been flooded with support as she issued an exciting career update online. The presenter's journey to stardom kicked off when she began delivering local news in the South West, later joining Time. But it was her role on Ready Steady Cook in the 1990s that cemented her status as a household name and she went on to host This Morning for 10 years. However, Fern's latest career announcement has nothing to do with TV, but her new book instead.
The 67-year-old recently got her hands on the hard copy of her new novel, A Cornish Legacy, revealing it was the first time she had seen it in full. Taking to Instagram with an image of the book positioned next to a vase full of flowers, Fern penned: "Oh my goodness. There is an extraordinary kind of alchemy that turns my rumpled thoughts and the hours spent bent over my laptop into a gorgeous book like this!
"This is the first time I've seen the whole thing brought together. Thank you and EVERYONE at who have waved the wand."
The Celebrity Big Brother star concluded the post by announcing that the book will be available to purchase on June 5. She was soon flooded by encouraging comments from fans, with several praising the 'gorgeous' cover and sharing their anticipation at reading it.
"I'm very excited for this one. Ordered ages ago not long now. I need this one Fern," wrote one fan as another exclaimed: "Can't wait!"
"Looks gorgeous," gushed a third. A fourth added: "I have pre-ordered mine, can't wait!!"
Fern has long enjoyed storytelling and has written a staggering 11 novels. Her first book, New Beginnings, was released in 2011, two years after she left This Morning.
She has been particularly busy with her writing since Covid, penning Daughters Of Cornwall in 2020 and The Good Servant two years later.
And just three years on, the hotly-anticipated A Cornish Legacy is now set for release. The new book promises another historical adventure on the south-west coastline, with a heartwarming story of new beginnings and finding home where you least expect it.
Of her latest book, The Sunday Times bestselling author told Femail: "The headline is, 'A woman who has lost everything is left a house that is falling down. Can they save each other?' I was telling a friend this the other day and she said, 'That's your life.' I went, 'Oh yeah!'"
