Renowned for her work in Gujarati films, Janki Bodiwala made her Hindi debut in 2024 with “Shaitaan,” which starred Jyotika and R. Madhavan. The movie was a remake of the Gujarati movie “Vash,” which she appeared in in 2023. The actress discussed her rigorous preparation for the Gujarati movie Vash in a recent interview, revealing that director Krishnadev Yagnik urged her to really urinate for a pivotal scene during workshops. She expressed her happiness at the director’s belief that it may have a significant influence. That wouldn’t have been realistically feasible on set, she added; therefore, it wasn’t shot that way.
“I did the Gujarati version, and I had the same scene to perform there,” Janki Bodiwala said in an interview with Filmfare. The director, with whom we were doing seminars, is a really kind individual. “Can you just do it for real?” he pleaded. The site of the urination. It will have a significant effect. And it made me very pleased. Like, whoa! I get to do it on screen because I’m an actor. Something that has never been done before. She continued by explaining that creative considerations and the practical challenges of having several retakes led to the sequence not being recorded in that same manner.
It would not have been “possible practically on set,” she remarked. Thus, we managed to do it. I was pleased to be able to accomplish things that I couldn’t do in real life. Furthermore, that sequence is my absolute favorite. And I agreed to that movie because of that sequence,” Janki stated.
In Vash, Janki Bodiwala was portrayed as Aarya. In Shaitaan, she played the role of Janhvi, the daughter of Ajay Devgn’s and Jyothika’s characters.
In the movie, a stranger uses dark magic to enchant Janki’s character, and her parents try to halt the possession and find out why the stranger did it. On March 8, 2024, Shaitaan was released in theaters, and reviewers gave it favorable reviews. The film received significant recognition for its powerful performances.
