One of Katrina Kaif’s most well-known dance pieces is Kala Chashma. Bosco Martis, who choreographed this popular song from the Baar Baar Dekho album, spoke candidly about his experience working with Katrina and Siddharth Malhotra in an interview. The choreographer said that he had to wait on location for Katrina for five hours, even though the song was a success when it was released back in 2016.
Bosco said in an interview with BBC Asian Network that “the moves that we had designed required footwork, and Katrina was wearing a lehenga.” Because Katrina was wearing a lehenga on the first day, I recall that we wasted five hours. We had to wait five hours on the second day for her to arrive wearing a gorgeous saree that she and Manish Malhotra had designed. He continued by saying that the attire was unique as it embraced the Indian element while allowing for a clear view of the leg motions. “You feel like the five hours were worth it when you see all those things come together because then you see Katrina do her magic,” Bosco added.
Some of the most well-known Bollywood songs have been choreographed by Bosco. His choreography for Jhoome Jo Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, went viral. Apart from that, he has worked with others on songs like Tauba Tauba in Bad Newz and Chuttamalle in Devara: Part 1.
Bosco said in the same interview that he was disappointed not to have received recognition for choreographing Chuttamalle in the movie Devara, starring Janhvi Kapoor and Jr. NTR. Although the song has gotten a lot of attention, Bosco said that throughout its promotional run, he was not given credit for it. “I wish Janhvi had mentioned it in her promotions, but it’s okay,” he remarked.
He drew attention to the difference in how Vicky Kaushal responded to a comparable situation, saying that he politely recognized Tauba Tauba in public appearances and the media after he went viral.
