Mumbai: The newly launched Mumbai Metro Line 3 which has been recently extended beyond BKC upto Acharya Aatre Chowk, in Worli is facing issues due to the suspended mobile network service causing inconvenience to its commuters and also raising serious safety concerns among commuters.


Although commuters getting seamless hassle free rapid public transport from western suburbs to South Mumbai upto Worli but the mobile network is causing greater inconvenience.


As per the MMRCL, only Vodaphone service is functional while other telecom companies services still remain suspended. Wifi provision is available at concourse level for ticketing service.


Infact, Uddhav Thackeray Youth wing leader Akhil Chitre also wrote a letter to Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC), which is the project implementating authority, was urged to resolve the issue earliest. Ticket vending machine at Siddhivinayak Station found to be closed.


Meanwhile the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) on Sunday had issued a statement that telecom service providers (TSPs) are ready to provide connectivity through an In-Building Solution (IBS) but the Mumbai Metro has created a monopoly by appointing a third-party vendor, demanding exorbitant fees for access.
