A person has been shot on CIA property in McLean, , in a "security incident", according to authorities. Fairfax County officers rushed to the 900 block of Dolley Madison Boulevard at about 4am this morning to assist police with traffic control.
has reported that security shot at a female driver who had approached the gate and failed to stop. She was shot in the "upper body" and taken to a medical facility. Police said the shooting is "non-fatal". According to a spokesperson, the main gate is currently closed and employees are being told to seek alternative routes.
According to a statement by Fairfax County police, patrol officers were dispatched to assist CIA police with traffic control. This assistance is ongoing.
This incident in Virginia comes just hours after two staff members of the in Washington - only a few miles away - while leaving an event at a Jewish museum.
The suspect reportedly yelled "Free, free Palestine" after he was arrested. There is no suggestion that the incidents are related.
